I think that when we try to live our lives fully cognizant of the finiteness of time, of how every single second can touch you to the core before it slips away from you forever and becomes a memory, of the improbability of being whole and sound in body and mind, and the simple pleasure of sharing this finite, improbable world with other persons, we necessarily nurture in ourselves a child-like capacity for wonder and for love.
